Silva Kuu[sniemi] is a writer, filmmaker and game designer based in Helsinki. She has written and directed three short films: Phlegethon (2018), Dead Fish (2020) and Stump (2023). She has been published in The New York TimesWashington Square Review, and Fearsome Critters: A Millenial Arts Journal. One day she will write a gothic novel.

Silva studied visual arts at Norwich University of the Arts, videography at Helsinki Design School, and MA Game Design and production at Aalto University. In her thesis she investigated the process of creative development in a live-action roleplaying game she designed in collaboration with Atropos Studios

She has worked with Hobby Film, Naive Society, Hey! Film Sweden, Palladium Fiction and Homerun Media. You can find her on IMDB here.

She is a winner of the 2022 Pitch Film Fund Drama Award. In 2017 she was selected as one of ten European aspiring women in games by the King and Diversi Scholarship Program.

Silva is currently working on an animation series concept with funding from The Promotion Centre for Audiovisual Culture Finland AVEK as well as writing upcoming film work.
